While reading from 'Mere Christianity' by C.S. Lewis, an amazing Christian author, I came across a story to which he didn't have the answer to because he didn't understand the Godhead. The role of the Holy Ghost is lost to those of other faiths, but I gleaned a new understanding of what he does for us.

Supposing you hear a cry for help from a man in danger. You will probably feel two desires—one a desire to give help (due to your herd instinct), the other a desire to keep out of danger (due to the instinct for self preservation). But you will find inside you, in addition to these two impulses, a third thing which tells you that you ought to follow the impulse to help, and suppress the impulse to run away. Now this is a thing that judges between two instincts, that decides which should be encouraged, and cannot itself be either of them.

The first is the Light of Christ, the second can be considered the Natural Man, and the third is the Holy Ghost. The holy ghost can be compared to a magnifying glass, which enlarges our desires to do good and builds our knowledge and understanding.

To be continued when I get more time...
